Paper Crafting at the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

Hello Everyone - We want to share with you some highlights from our latest teaching adventure. We were asked to teach paper crafting, The Art of Valentine's Making, at the inaugural EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, (such a huge compliment!) It is still going on for two more weeks, so make sure you taste some culinary delights, take a new class and visit the many exhibits.

As a gal who has lived in Florida since I was 2; who was at Disney World on opening day back in the 70s; and who also was lucky to tour EPCOT when the globe was only 70% built; this was truly a dream come true.  It was super exciting to be part of the magic making. Disney and my mom's love of imagination and creativity is such a big part of who I am and why I started The Paper Seahorse.

We made an origami heart, our own envelopes and then lettered the sentiments inside. We introduced a whole room to washi tape and lettering!  Cowgirls Jessica and Skylar came with me. They were calm as cucumbers which helped because I was so nervous. There were 28 students of all ages, making it the largest class we have taught, and three boys (who did exceptionally well at origami and lettering).  I think it was very well received and we hope to be asked back next year.

It was such a magical day, one I will never forget.  I got to face my public speaking fears, being on stage, and share my love of paper crafting and making mail.  Thanks Disney World for believing in us.
