Learn to create beautiful lettering without using nib and ink. Also known as faux calligraphy, you will be using a fudenosuke brush pen. Learn to properly execute the eight basic strokes of calligraphy, to appropriately apply pen pressure to make elegant strokes, and to create stunning faux calligraphy – useful in every lettering situation!
Class participants will learn how to connect letters and to use their new lettering skills to beautify popular names, words, and phrases. All supplies will be provided by instructor. Participants will take home pens, practice paper, and the experience needed to continue their lettering adventure.
All materials supplied. This is an in-person class.
Teacher Bio:
Julia Macek, a self-taught professional calligrapher and paper craft artist, is originally from San Jose, California. Her calligraphic work employs a brush pen and dip pen to create hundreds of wedding envelopes, party invitations, name plates, signs, and seating charts on a variety of media. Julia also utilizes an iPad, apple pencil and Cricut cutting machine to elevate the breadth of work she creates. She marries her love for calligraphy with her love for quilling to create her award-winning artwork, featuring the flora and fauna and wildlife of Florida.
Julia is also an accomplished, award winning paper quiller. She has been featured on national television for her work.
