Why We Choose to Partner with Traveler's Company Japan

One of the best things about writing by hand is how easy it is; all thats needed is time and something to write with.  If your body is cooperating, all you need is a scrap of paper and any old pen, pencil, crayon or whatever writing instrument is handy.   However,  we have found that when people develop a personal writing practice, the tools they use become very important.  When they take a break from the chaotic world, their personal notebook and pen helps them make that moment special.  Their writing tools help them "drop-in" and let go of tension and anxiety, be in the present moment and receive all of the benefits that provides.

As the Paper Seahorse evolved from a stationery store to become a leader in the Slow Living movement - helping people in their analog journey to a more balanced life - we felt it was important to let go of products that could easily be found at other places, and instead focus our attention on providing our community with uncommon artisanal writing tools created by a company that shared our mission. We found that partner in Traveler's Company Japan, based Nakameguru, a super cool residential neighborhood of Tokyo. Here we discovered a small, purpose-driven team led by designers who appreciate the benefits and joys of "traveling" through life IRL.
