Enjoy an afternoon of bookmaking with one of the earliest forms of bookbinding — The Coptic Stitch Binding. It's also one of the first basic bindings that bookmakers learn.
In this step-by-step workshop you will create your own Coptic Stitched Journal, from making the cover using handmade and printed papers, to folding your signatures to stitching your pages together. The exposed spine and hard cover create a beautiful space to hold your sketches, pressed flowers, special notes, favorite quotes and other treasures. We'll add an extra special touch with partial signature covers, allowing your cover design to continue throughout the inside of your journal.
When we're done, you'll take home your personal journal, a perfect place for you personal thoughts and special notes.
All supplies are included with your choice to mixed media paper or drawing paper for your journal pages. No prior experience is needed.
