Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – 4 Way Street

This is a snapshot of one of the biggest bands of their era trying to hold it all together while playing some of their most beloved songs. Recorded in 1970, right in the heart of the counterculture movement, 4 Way Street gives you both sides of CSNY: the gentle, stripped-down acoustic harmonies where you can hear every breath, and the electric blowouts where Neil Young and Stephen Stills lock horns on stage like they’re dueling with their guitars.

What makes this record so compelling is the tension -you can feel the egos, the friendships, and the politics bubbling under the music. It’s messy, imperfect, and completely alive. That’s the charm:  you’re eavesdropping on an era when music wasn’t just entertainment, it was the voice of a generation trying to figure itself out.

The vinyl is excellent -looks hardly played.  Sounds great.
