Setting Your Intention for 2021

"Let us not look back in anger, nor forward in fear, but around in awareness"

– James Thurber

Last year my word / theme for the year was intention. My goal was to experience living an intentional life, one where I was deliberate in my choices. To slow down and be more mindful. I got my wish, 2020 helped everyone slow down and think about what they were doing and why. Mindfulness in these modern times boosts our immune system, lowers our blood pressure and reduces anxiety.

This year my word is JOY, to feel it, to be it and infuse everything I do with it. It has been a long road, we have learned a lot and the pandemic is still here but at some point will be over thankfully. Having a positive mindset is vital for well-being. Positive thoughts reduce stress and inflammation while increasing resilience to infection. Changing our thought patterns from negative and scared, to positive and affirmative, will change our lives.

Write these down or say them to yourself when you wake up and before you go to sleep:

I Am Safe

I am Healthy

I am Joyful

We have the power to choose how we perceive the world around us. Enhance your reality and practice the power of positivity. Take time to think about what brings you joy, true unbridled joy. Allow yourself to be joyful. Become lighter this year and remember to smile, a lot.
