Stationery Fest New York and Florida Stationery Fest 2026: Or What I Did On My Summer Vacation
This summer was a whirlwind of stationery goodness and grateful living. I was lucky enough to teach at the first ever Stationery Festival in Florida. This was held in Orlando in May. It was organized by The Florida Fountain Pen Show folks and boy did they knock it out of the park for their inaugural event. We taught a sold-out Gratitude Journaling Workshop and enjoyed a well organized and cool event. Students were so engaged and we found some cool new items and brands we had not seen before. We did not get to take any classes but there was a fun mini breakout make and take session Friday night. We highly recommend checking this show out. Next one is in January 2027.

Next up in July, it was time to head to New York for the second Stationery Festival put on by Yoseka Stationery. We taught at the first one and it was incredible. This year the event was probably triple the size. There were over 10,000 attendees and it was held at Industry City in Brooklyn. Three massive show floors: spacewalk, uptown and downtown, as well as a giant courtyard space that had an ink stand and all sorts of fun interactive activities.

One of those activities was ours! We hosted a Summer Postcard Party and gave out about 400 vintage and new postcards. People decorated with washi tape, rubber stamps and sent missives far and wide. Thanks to Bonnie of the Sunshine Postcard Club who donated the vintage postcards and Monica Stoddard of the Tampa Bay Letter Writers who helped host the community meet up.

We taught three Gratitude Journaling workshops, one each day, and met incredible people who all brought open hearts. Each class is always different depending on who attends, but one thing was constant, the desire to make positive change and find joy in each day. The power of gratitude really can change your life for the better, life is meant to be lived and why not make it truly magical each day.

One of our students was also our very first customer! Special guest, Ann Dowdy, visited from the West Coast and it was a mini reunion as we had THREE Tampa Bay Letter Writers the first day!

We are so, SO thankful for the opportunity to be a part of such an epic event. Meeting fellow teachers who are very creative, the talented makers and visionaries who create all the goods we love and hoard, was fantastic. We are all on a paper and ink high from being with our people and sharing in a vast community that is kind, caring, generous and see the world through a playful lens. We really did feel the connection one sunny afternoon in that courtyard, on the show floor and in each creative classroom.

A big shout out to the many volunteers and top notch staff who kept everything running smoothly. It was no small feat. We appreciate everyone who was there and if you were lucky to attend, you felt the magic of stationery too. We came back revitalized, inspired and in awe of how powerful it can be when we all gather in real life for a positive common goal: celebrating the human spirit through pen and paper.
We cannot wait to do it all again…

Stationery Haul images below. I tried to restrain myself, it was incredibly hard, good thing I was teaching or we would have had to buy another suitcase!

It was also Stationery Store Day on Saturday the 1st. We visited Yours Truly and found some more fun things and got to also visit my fav bookstore McNally Jackson for more stationery finds.
